There are various volunteer opportunities available for you to choose from:
1. Maintenance and General Clean Up:
Join us on designated work days to assist with maintenance and general clean up at the location of your choice. Help us keep the gardens in great shape by pulling weeds, tending to plants, and maintaining a clean environment.
2. Installation and Construction:
If you enjoy hands-on work, you can contribute to the installation of new equipment or participate in the construction of new gardens. Your efforts will contribute to the growth and development of our community garden spaces.
3. Representation at Events:
Attend events on behalf of CHCG, such as Earth Day or other sustainability-related gatherings. This is an opportunity to engage with the community, spread awareness about our initiatives, and promote the importance of sustainable practices.
4. Community Outreach:
Assist with community outreach efforts, including contributing to our newsletter or helping organize fundraising events. By participating in these activities, you can help us connect with the community, share valuable information, and raise funds to support our mission.
5. Publicity and Garden Record-Keeping:
If you have skills in publicity or organization, we welcome your assistance in these areas. Help us with publicity efforts, including social media management and content creation.
Additionally, contribute to garden record-keeping, ensuring accurate documentation of our activities.
6. Helping children in the children's beds:
We have special garden beds dedicated to children's gardening. You can assist children in learning about gardening, nurturing their plants, and fostering a love for nature. See the Hungry Bunny Page for all things with children in the garden.
7. Assisting with harvest and deliveries to food banks:
Join us in the rewarding task of harvesting fresh produce from the gardens and delivering it to local food banks. Your contribution will support efforts to combat food insecurity and provide nutritious food to those in need.
We appreciate your interest in volunteering and your commitment to making a difference. By participating in any of these volunteer activities, you'll be supporting the CHCG's mission of sustainable food systems and community development. Thank you!
